The Yamaha YS is basic, it keeps it's price low due to not throwing on "fancy" gadgetry such as TFT screens or LED indicators.
 
It's a simple commuter, and this is it's strength. Simple to ride, simple to repair, and that equates to saving money! Cheap to repair, cheap to service and cheap to run with over 100mpg meaning you can achieve over 300 miles to tank! With a tank capacity of 14 liters, this means that for only £20 (at 1.49p/ltr) you would be able to get from Leeds to Manchester over six times on 1 fill up! This will be the cheapest way to get to work if you're unable to walk/cycle there.
 
Unified Braking System (UBS) is also used here, so applying the rear brake will make the front brake slightly engage to help bring the bike to a steady stop. Seat height is low at only 795mm, and at only 129kg, it is incredibly lightweight and nimble.
